Winter officially begins this year on Dec. 21; however, for Prince George County Schools, winter preparedness started long ago.
“Believe it or not, at the end of the last season,” said Ron Rhodes, director of operations for Prince George County Schools.
Together with Rhonda Munford, administrative associate, the school system begins planning early in the year.
“It literally starts with the post-season meeting,” said Munford.
Rhodes and Munford met with VRSA to discuss how they get prepared for winter – which involves a team effort including operations, administration, custodial staff, fleet maintenance staff, and more.
