Event coverage provides protections for entities and citizens

Does your organization allow citizens to rent spaces for events?

Many public entities allow citizens to utilize their facilities and property for events such as weddings, parties, graduations, festivals, and parades.

However, the users of these “tenant spaces” are not covered under your organization’s insurance program, exposing your entity to the possibility of being drawn into unnecessary claims.

For VRSA members, however, there is access to Event Coverage through our partner, GatherGuard.  This program offers a low-cost insurance policy to protect the citizens or organizations – called “tenant users,” of the facility or space, as well as the public entity.

The coverage applies to bodily injury or property damage arising out of the use of the public entity’s premises by tenant users. Premium costs are paid by the tenant user and are based on several factors including the nature and length of the event, the number of participants, and the level of risk.
