If one of your organization’s New Year’s resolutions was to increase training and engagement, VRSA is here for you. VRSA offers a variety of training options, including virtual engagements, in-person learning, and courses available through online educational platforms.
VRSA Online University
VRSA offers free, unlimited courses to members through the VRSA Online University. This platform offers more than 300 courses in the areas of public safety, public works, defensive driving, parks and recreation, human resources, schools, law enforcement, and more. Through the VRSA Online University, members can also develop and present their own training courses.
Public Safety Academy
VRSA also offers three training platforms for public safety staff, including the:
- Police1Academy;
- Training Response Network (TRN) Academy; and
- Fire/EMS Academy through FireRescue 1.
Some courses provide in-service credit through the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services. Learn more and access courses here.
Training for Schools
VRSA also provides access to the Child Sexual Abuse Prevention in Schools training series. The program is designed to help teachers, school staff, and administrators prevent sexual abuse before it happens through education and training.
