Town of Chilhowie – VML and VRSA training
Staff joined the Virginia Municipal League (VML) this summer in the Town of Chilhowie to provide information and training to local government officials and staff. This follows previous joint events in Marion and Onancock!
Chilhowie Town Manager John Clark opened the workshop with an introduction to the town and its history. Throughout the day, VML Executive Director Michelle Gowdy provided an overview of the upcoming General Assembly session, VRSA Managing Director Marcus Hensel discussed cybersecurity, VRSA Director of Education and Training Thomas Bullock presented on the impacts of legalized marijuana, and VRSA Safety Specialist Edward Shelton spoke about VOSH and playground liability.
