Virginia Association of School Superintendents

VRSA staff attended the Virginia Association of School Superintendents (VASS) fall conference in Charlottesville.

International City/County Management Association (ICMA) Annual Conference

VRSA Local Government Specialist Peter Stephenson attended the ICMA Annual Conference held in Nashville, TN this fall. At the conference, he caught up with Blacksburg Town Manager Marc Verniel and Deputy Town Manager Chris Lawrence.

National Threat Assessment Conference

VRSA Director of Education and Training Thomas Bullock and Public Safety Specialist Gary Dillon represented VRSA at the National Threat Assessment Conference for Educational Institutions in Richmond. There, more than 900 discussed keeping children safe through the use of threat assessment teams in institutes of higher learning and K-12 public schools. VRSA proudly co-sponsored this event.

VRSA staff attended the Virginia Government Finance Officers Association (VGFOA) Fall conference held in Richmond.

VACo Conference

VRSA staff attended the Virginia Association of Counties (VACo) 2019 Annual Conference this fall. VRSA Director of Member Services Marcus Hensel spent time with Mathews County Administrator and VRSA Members’ Supervisory Board Chair Melinda Conner, as well as Hanover County Administrator and VRSA Members’ Supervisory Board Member Rhu Harris.

VRSA staff sponsored the Virginia School Board Association Annual Conference, where Account Specialist Harry McMillen and Account Executive Nora Pierre spoke with Nanci Reaves with Hampton City Schools.
