Town of Luray focuses on safety at new Ralph H. Dean Recreation Park playground

We all remember the fun we had as children playing on our neighborhood playgrounds.  As a child, it was magic.  We never considered injuries, maintenance, or problem areas.  As many of you know, playgrounds are dynamic and fun; but they also come with potential hazards.

Recently, the Town of Luray installed a new playground at the Ralph H. Dean Recreation Park. In planning the new playground, the town relied on a review committee of three individuals with backgrounds in parks and recreation.

“It is important to have various inputs from all aspects of recreation,” said Luray Superintendent of Parks and Recreation Jennifer Jenkins. “The best way to get a really good playground is to have as much input as we possibly can.”
