VRSA Director of Education and Training, Thomas Bullock, VRSA Senior Safety Consultants Fonda Craig, Eddie Shelton, and Vinny Gallo, and VRSA Public Safety Specialist Gary Dillon have all been certified as COVID-19 Infectious Disease Prevention Specialists by the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP).
As a result of this certification, risk services staff is prepared to assist members with:
- Completing an Infectious Disease Prevention Risk Assessment to assess risks in their workplace;
- Classifying worker exposure to infectious disease;
- Developing risk reduction strategies to lower transmission rates of infectious disease in the workplace; and
- Building an Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response Plan (IDPR).
“We came away with a variety of risk reduction strategies that are intended to reduce transmission rates in the workplace,” said Bullock. “From this course, we are better prepared to assist our members in their return-to-work plans.”
