This quarter, VRSA recognizes Prince William Water as one of the more than 100 members to make the Gold Star List. The list is issued quarterly to recognize members who have reported their workers’ compensation claims within three days of injury. Making the Gold Star List signifies that a member is not only reporting but also treating employees in a timely manner from the date of their injury.
“It’s an accomplishment,” said Prince William Water Safety and Security Manager George Hoke. “But the real importance for us is the positive outcomes that come from timely reporting – the employees benefit with quicker recovery and prompt medical care. The organization – we benefit from it, it helps us meet our goals, and the pool benefits from lower claims costs.”
- For the injured employee, it results in quicker access to treatment.
- For the member, it results in treated employees returning to work more quickly, increasing productivity and morale in the workplace.
- It allows our claims staff to establish communication with the injured employee quickly, assuring them that we are aware of their injury and ensuring they receive care.
Timely reporting not only keeps costs down but also helps injured employees begin their recovery process sooner.
