VASS-VASBO Winter Conference

VRSA kicked off the New Year at the Virginia Association of School Superintendents (VASS) and Virginia Association of School Business Officials (VASBO) Winter Conference. The conference featured a host of presenters and panelists to discuss emerging issues and hot topics in school business.

VML Local Elected Officials Conference

Managing Director Marcus Hensel presented at the Virginia Municipal League Local Elected Conference earlier this month, discussing cybersecurity risks for local governments and providing an overview of recent incidents.

Hanover County

Senior Safety Consultant Fonda Craig and Safety Consultant Christine Gillison provided OSHA-30 Hour General Industry training to staff in Hanover County. They were joined by Hanover County Safety and Risk Manager Matt Phillips.

Mathews County

County Administrator Ramona Wilson featured VRSA in the county’s holiday door decorations! The message reads: “I filed the police report with the County. They said you are covered under VRSA. Animal control needs to see licenses for the reindeer.”

Central Virginia Law Enforcement Chief Executive Association

VRSA Public Safety Specialist Gary Dillon spoke on law enforcement risk management at the Central Virginia Law Enforcement Chief Executive Association meeting.

Virginia School Boards Association

Senior Account Executive Nora Pierre and Local Government Specialist Peter Stephenson attended the Virginia School Boards Association Annual Convention last fall, meeting with staff from various school divisions, including Prince William County and York County.

Virginia Municipal League – VML Emerging Technology Conference

VRSA Public Safety Specialist Gary Dillon braved the early winter snowfall to participate in the VML Emerging Technology Conference. The panel, “Privacy vs. Public Safety: Navigating the Tension Between Personal Rights and Collective Security,” explored how technology such as AI, cameras, and real-time data platforms complicate the balance between individual freedoms and community protection.

Virginia Association of Counties

Local Government Specialist Peter Stephenson joined Senior Account Executive Nora Pierre for the Virginia Association of Counties Annual Conference. As a truly member-owned and governed pool, VRSA offers the broadest protections for Virginia’s cities, counties, towns, schools, and authorities.
