Town of Vienna recognized on the Gold Star List

VRSA recognizes the Town of Vienna as one of more than 100 members to make the Gold Star List. The list is published each quarter to recognize members who have reported their workers’ compensation claims within three days of injury.

Making the Gold Star List signifies that a member is not only reporting but also treating employees in a timely manner from the date of their injury.

“Making the list reinforces our commitment to employees,” said Town of Vienna HR Specialist Dawn Moore. “We want to make sure that it’s reported in a timely manner so they get the proper care. It shows that we’re not just meeting expectations that we are building a culture of safety.”

Timely reporting and treatment helps make things go right for both the injured employee – with quicker treatment – and their employer – with fewer staff absences as a result of injury.

“Timely reporting leads to quicker medical attention, faster claims processing, and more effective return to work planning,” said Town of Vienna HR Generalist Katie Smith. “So there are fewer delays and complications and that leads to better results for the employee for the town.”
