More than 150 members attend 2024 Fall Education Forums

More than 150 member employees representing 93 cities, counties, towns, school divisions, and authorities attended the Fall Education Forums, hosted in communities throughout Virginia – small and large.

Topics this year included an interactive session: Compensable or Not Compensable… You Play the Judge! where attendees were given several different workers’ compensation scenarios and asked whether the injury was compensable.

“We had outstanding engagement with our members throughout these sessions,”  said VRSA Managing Director Marcus Hensel.

The second topic, Preserving Evidence: What Does It Mean and How Do You Do It?  explored the duty to retain and preserve evidence or documents concerning pending or foreseeable claims.

The final two sessions focused on receiving feedback from members and discussing the complex landscape of marijuana legalization and its impact on workplace policies and practices.

Staff have enjoyed seeing members across the Commonwealth throughout these four sessions. Thank you to everyone, members, guests, and speakers, who attended. We look forward to seeing members at our next in-person engagement!
