The Bull Run Alcohol Safety Action Program, or ASAP, provides probationary oversight to offenders who have been referred to them from a court, typically for a conviction of driving under the influence. Bull Run is one of 21 ASAPS located throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia, serving citizens in Prince William and Loudoun Counties.
To provide an added layer of security for staff, they requested VRSA Risk Management Grant funds to install security cameras and panic alarms at their facility.
“We had an incident where a person had come in, and then when they were leaving, they shoved our front door so hard that it literally made it come off the rails,” said Bull Run ASAP Director Jaime Moran. “So, after discussing that with the board, we decided it was a good idea to make sure we had some security set up.”
Through the grant program, the ASAP was able to purchase security cameras, as well as panic alarms. Learn more about their experience in the video below.
