VRSA has a hybrid work schedule with staff working onsite on specific days of each week. New hires will initially work in-house.
Currently, we have an employment opportunity for an Application Support Analyst. This position supports VRSA business applications and end users, acting as a technical point of contact for VRSA staff. Triages application and systems issues while also ensuring the smooth operation of system processes. Assists with the support of VRSA’s custom-coded applications and integrations.
Responsibilities include:
- Serve as an administrator for VRSA business applications, including the maintenance of security roles, end-user accounts, and application configurations.
- Provide business applications support. Work closely with VRSA end users and application vendors to validate, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues.
- Develop test plans to verify the logic of new or modified applications. Coordinate, test, and communicate application changes with end users. Provide end-user training.
- Understand the workflow and process requirements of end users related to business applications. Identify opportunities for process efficiency and automation.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience/Education:
- Undergraduate degree in business administration, information systems, a technology-related field, or a related designation.
- A minimum of three years of work experience with application administration and/or software development.
- Experience with gathering and writing business and technical requirements, as well as process documentation.
- Detailed knowledge of common Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Demonstrated ability to be the subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining, and administering business applications.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies.
- Strong analytical/critical thinking skills and critical thinking.
- Ability to interpret and communicate analysis to non-technical end users.
- Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Knowledge of standard IT hardware and equipment.
- Highly organized, detail oriented and works well under pressure.
NONESSENTIAL/BENEFICIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of coding languages, such as .Net, XML, JSON, JavaScript, HTML.
- Experience with Project Management.
- Experience with Business Analysis and ITIL framework.
- Knowledge of the property and casualty insurance industry (preferred).
