Staff out and about – Summer 2025

Staff continue to reach out and connect with Virginia’s local public entities – from the smallest to largest, through engagements, conferences, trainings, and more. Read more about their activities below!

Town of South Boston

The Virginia Municipal League (VML) and VRSA held a regional briefing in the Town of South Boston.  VML Executive Director Michelle Gowdy shared updates on the 2025 General Assembly session and budget, while VRSA Managing Director Marcus Hensel provided insights on cybersecurity. Additional sessions included marijuana in the workplace by Director of Education and Training Thomas Bullock and the importance of site inspections and VOSH visits by Senior Safety Consultant Fonda Craig.
