This quarter, VRSA recognizes Waynesboro Public Schools as one of more than 100 members to make the Gold Star List. The list is published each quarter to recognize members who have reported their workers’ compensation claims within three days of injury.
“Christie [Ryman] does an amazing job getting our workers’ compensation claims submitted in a timely fashion, which speeds the process along for our employees,” said Executive Director of Finance Vonda Hutchinson. “They aren’t worried about what is happening with their claim because it’s taken care of… it is something that we take seriously, and we want to do things right for our employees.”
“We want to make sure the employees are taken care of,” agreed Benefits Manager Christie Ryman. “It’s all about the employees.”
Reporting injuries promptly helps make things go right not only for members but for everyone involved in the claim.
- For the injured employee, it results in quicker access to treatment.
- For the member, it results in treated employees returning to work more quickly increasing productivity and morale in the workplace.
- For VRSA, it allows our claims staff to establish communication with the injured employee quickly, assuring them that we are aware of their injury and ensuring they receive care.
Late reporting is a major cost driver in workers’ compensation claims. Timely reporting not only keeps costs under control but also helps injured employees begin their recovery process sooner.
