Two risk management forums for water and wastewater authorities and public utility departments were held in Richmond and Roanoke on March 7 and March 8, respectively.
Speakers included VMLIP Director of Member Services Jeff Cole, President of Aqua Law Chris Pomeroy, Jake Kouns with Risk Based Security, and Mike Mertz with Agility Recovery.
The speakers addressed topics regarding legal and legislative challenges facing water and waste treatment in Virginia; cyber related regulatory, economic and reputational risks; and using affordable Agility Recovery resources to continue operations and enhance communications.
Attendees provided excellent feedback to the speakers and VMLIP staff on the legal/legislative, cyber and business continuity needs of water and wastewater treatment operations.
