Bullock promoted to director of risk services

This fall Thomas Bullock, former VML Insurance Programs (VMLIP) law enforcement specialist, was promoted to director of risk services. Bullock has been with VMLIP for more than 11 years providing consulting services in law enforcement liability.

Bullock previously worked as a police officer for 14 years – working in narcotics, community policing and patrol. He holds an associate’s degree in police science, a bachelor’s degree in the administration of justice, and a master’s degree in human resources administration.

“My goals for the risk services department are ensuring that all team members are working consistently with each other to deliver highly valued programs and services to our members,” said Bullock. “By implementing a holistic approach to providing risk management services, team members will engage members as partners and continue to build positive relationships with our members.”

“This partnership is essential to the risk management health of our members as well as the financial health of the pool. I look forward to working with our members in my new role.”

Farewell to Matt Reid

Senior Safety Consultant Matt Reid, who had worked with VMLIP members for more than 15 years, left the pool this fall to begin a new opportunity with the North Carolina League of Municipalities.

“Matt has been a tremendous asset to VMLIP and our members,” said Director of Risk Services Thomas Bullock.  “During his tenure with VMLIP, Matt developed great relationships with our members that helped create safer workspaces and communities. I enjoyed working with Matt, and we wish him the best in the North Carolina League of Municipalities.”
