Please note – proof of COVID vaccination or valid exemption (religious or medical) must be provided by all VRSA employees. VRSA has a hybrid work schedule with staff working onsite specific days of each week. New hires will initially work in-house.

We are currently seeking an experienced occupational safety and health consultant to assist VRSA members with their risk management needs.

Responsibilities include developing and providing local and regional training, workshops, presentations and development of safety programs and on-site consultation to members located throughout the northern area of the state.

Qualified applicants must have loss prevention consulting experience in the safety/insurance industry and knowledge of local government as an industry. Applicants must be proficient in technical writing and demonstrate strong verbal communication skills and a professional demeanor.

A working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA and ANSI standards is required. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification and local government risk management experience are pluses. Regular travel, including some overnight trips, and a valid driver’s license are also required.
